Cross-border ASEAN Partnerships Formed Between Eco Selaras, Sunway iLabs Ventures & Innovate 360

During the ASEAN Youth Agenda Summit 2023, ECO-S Climate Tech Hub signed 2 Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with Innovate 360 and Sunway iLabs to build and support collaboration within the ASEAN climate tech ecosystem. The MOU was signed by Cynthia Handriani Wijaya, Founder of ECO-S Climate Tech Hub and Chief Corporate Officer of Daya Selaras Group with John Cheng, Founder and CEO of Innovate 360 and Melissa Foo, Head of Sunway iLabs Ventures.

The parties agree to become a bridge to connect climate-tech start-ups within each others’ countries and communities, extend funding and business opportunities, co-run capacity building programs, and to exchange industry expertise and advice relating to the climate-tech industry.

ECO-S or Eco Selaras is a 2,200 sqm coworking and office space that houses a climate tech hub and located in the heart of Sudirman CBD. ECO-S climate-tech hub is owned by Daya Selaras Group and is run in partnership with Ecoxyztem venture builder with the objectives to provide a space for climate-tech startups to work on their innovation and to encourage more activation and collaboration amongst the climate-tech stakeholders. The hub will be able to support up to 300 entrepreneurs and climate action supporters with its facilities of private office, dedicated desks, meeting rooms, outdoor balcony and event space.

Innovate 360 is Singapore’s first food accelerator with facilities and venture capitalist, recognised as a technology partner by Asia Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC) Policy Partnership on Food Security. It is backed by a third generation, 75-year-old food business and is supported by Enterprise Singapore. Sunway iLabs is the innovation arm of Sunway Group and Sunway University, aims to foster entrepreneurship and stimulate market-driven innovations, to help entrepreneurs become more competitive in this rapidly changing environment. Sunway iLabs was awarded Outstanding Property Development for Start-ups in 2019 and Outstanding Incubator/Coworking Space in 2021 by the Malaysian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (MCVA).

“We are pleased to announce this collaboration with Innovate 360 and Sunway iLabs to further our goals in supporting and opening more channels for the local and ASEAN climate-tech start-ups and stakeholders. It is predicted that the ASEAN region’s energy-related GHG emissions will increase by 34-147% between 2017 and 2040. Climate-tech plays an important role in bridging innovation and sustainability and is one of the key drivers to tackle climate-related issues. Admitting the rough pathway in commercialising and scaling a new technology, there needs to be collaboration between the private, public sector and international community to support in filling this gap.” says Cynthia Handriani Wijaya, Founder of ECO-S.
