ECO-S co-organized one of the panel sessions in the ASEAN Youth + Summit 2023 with the theme "Building an ASEAN Climate Tech ecosystem". We were joined by our partners and panelist speakers Andreas Pandu Wirawan (CCO of Ecoxyztem venture builder), John Cheng (CEO & Founder of Innovate360), Melissa Foo (Head of Sunway iLab ventures) who shared valuable insights on how to kickstart the climate tech journey, its vast potential to solve the ASEAN and global climate problems, funding and investment opportunities and challenges the innovation and/or entrepreneurs face.
Key points from this panel discussion:
1) #Partnerships 🤝are key to solving the climate problem, especially within ASEAN which shares the same climate struggles. Many technologies need to be brought into and developed in this region by local talents who understand the dynamics of the space.
2) Does climate tech make financial sense💲? The answer to this question is to focus on building targeted and effective solutions and finding the right partners and networks to scale.
3) The youth 🙎♀️🙎♂️plays an important role in being the main drivers of climate tech and solutions.
